Y'Speedos Swim Club

The Y Speedos Swim Club, founded in 1974 by Karl Dalhouse, is a premier competitive swimming team based at the Kingston YMCA. With a legacy of excellence, the club has won numerous National Championships and produced seven Olympians, including World Record Holder and World Champion Alia Atkinson OD. Our swimmers represent the club and Jamaica with distinction at national, regional, and international competitions. The Y Speedos are proud to honor our recently departed General Secretary, Sarah Newland Martin, a decorated Para-Olympian Swimmer and Jamaica’s Sports Woman of the Year in 1965, through the Karl Dalhouse Memorial Invitational Swim Meet. This prestigious event has grown into a major international competition, attracting swimmers from across the Caribbean, Central and South America, and the United States. The Y Speedos Swim Club is dedicated to fostering excellence, sportsmanship, and camaraderie among swimmers of all levels.
